Getting 12 people that you know to play is going to be complete hell. Getting any less than that would basically put you as a disadvantage, so this format is going to be played as much as TA, whereas normal AB would be played as much as RA.

AB is the fun area of pvp.
where you can do stupid builds and usually win

This would have been good at the release of Factions, but it would barely work now. Getting a team of 12 players would be a pain in the ass. Then finding an enemy alliance to fight would take forever. Not worth it anymore.

It just dropped to Saltspray, barely moments after I entered because I saw it at Etnaran. *sad Kurzick. I gotta say I haven't seen it stay in Lux territory so long for quite a while, though - seems like the double faction = great incentive to play better for X4 and X6 faction rates.

OP: I - seriously doubt you'd find enough people for this to work, usually because of the imbalances in numbers during the different maps.
